Turn Read & understood on for a module
Read & understood is turned on or off per module. With the Admin level on the Super area row, go to Super > Modules, open the module, go to its Admin tab, and switch on Allow for sending requests for content acceptance in the section Read & understood. The change is saved at once. From then on, published documents in the module show the Read & understood button, so users with the Edit right on the module’s row can ask colleagues to confirm that they have read a document. If users cannot see the button, this switch is the first thing to check.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need the Admin level on the Super area row of your rights; this is what shows the Super menu. Your user administrator sets this.
- The switch is set per module. Check it in each module where you want to use Read & understood.
- In the left menu, click Super > Modules.
- Open the module, and go to its Admin tab.
- Find the section Read & understood.
- Switch on Allow for sending requests for content acceptance. To turn the feature off, switch it off.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”- The switch changes at once; there is nothing else to save.
- Published documents in the module show the Read & understood button in the view-mode button bar.
- A report that covers only this module shows the tab Accept Contents Overview to users with the Create right on the reports row.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Why a user does not see the button. For a document in a module where the switch is on, the button is shown only when the document has been published. A document that has never been published has no button.
- Who can send requests. Everyone who can open a published document in the module sees the button, but sending and following up requests needs the Edit right on the module’s row. Confirming a request needs only Read. Your user administrator sets these rights.
- All versions of the module. The switch applies to the module as a whole, including documents created under earlier versions of its form.
- Revisions. Requests apply to one revision of a document. When a new revision is published, users must be asked again. Whether a module allows new revisions is set on the same Admin tab; see Allow or stop new revisions of published documents in a module.
