Search for a document
Use the search bar at the top of the dashboard, if your company’s dashboard has it. Type part of the document’s title, or its ID, and press Enter; matching documents appear in a list under the field, and you click one to open it. The dashboard search finds only published documents in document modules. It does not find drafts, documents still in a workflow, or archived documents, and it does not search the text inside documents.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The search bar is a dashboard widget. Open the dashboard with Dashboard in the left menu. Which widgets the dashboard has depends on your company’s setup; if you see no search bar, your company’s dashboard does not include it.
- You need the title, part of the title, or the ID of the document. The ID is shown as Id in the document’s info panel; the 8 characters shown there are enough.
- Optional: to search only certain modules, click the funnel button next to the search field. In the Filter panel (heading in English), open Choose module, and select one or more modules under Select modules.
- In the search bar at the top of the dashboard, click the field that says “Enter search text here…” (shown in English).
- Type part of the title or the document ID. Upper and lower case do not matter.
- Press Enter while the cursor is in the search field.
- Click a document in the list to open it.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”A list under the search field with one line per document: the title, a dash and the module name. Only the latest revision of each document is listed. If nothing matches, the list says “No documents found” (shown in English).
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Only published documents. A document is found once it is published, and is no longer found once it is archived. To find documents you are working on or waiting for, use the tiles on the dashboard; see The dashboard.
- Title and ID only. The search matches text anywhere in the title, or in the document ID. It does not look in the fields or text of the document. To search the contents of documents, use the search in a report; see Search and filter a report for yourself.
- Not other registers. Actions, risk analyses and risk elements, KPI scorecards, equipment, the Substance register and Competency are not covered. Use the search in each module; see the links under Related.
- Module filter. The Choose module list shows the modules you have the Create right on. With no module selected, the search is not limited by module.
- Punctuation only. If you type only punctuation characters, nothing is searched.
