Work with plans

A plan groups actions that belong together, for example everything that follows from an audit or a project. One action can belong to several plans. You create a plan with New plan on the plan tabs of the Action Manager, and add actions to it under Add to plan(s): in the action dialog.

  • To use New plan and New action, and the icons on the rows of the action and plan lists, you need the Create level or higher on the Action Manager row of your rights. By default every user has it, but your company may have removed it for some users; if you do not have it, ask your user administrator.
  • Besides the plans people create, the Action Manager has two predefined views of all actions: All Actions and My Actions. They are tabs, not plans you manage.
  1. In the left menu, click Actions to open the Action Manager, and open All Plans or My plans.
  2. Click New plan.
  3. Give the plan a name and save it.

The plan appears in the plan list with its name and the number of actions in it.

  1. Open the action, or create a new one with New action.
  2. Under Basic information, click in Add to plan(s):.
  3. Start typing the plan’s name and choose it from the list, with a click or with Enter. The list offers plans that already exist; to use a new plan, create it first with New plan.
  4. Save the action with Save as draft or Send.

An action can be added to several plans in the same field.

  1. Open the plan from All Plans or My plans.
  2. In the plan’s list of actions, click Remove action from plan on the action’s row.

Removing an action from a plan does not delete the action; it stays in the Action Manager and in any other plans.

  1. Open All Plans or My plans.
  2. Click the delete button (Delete plan) on the plan’s row.

The plan page is titled “Plan:” followed by the plan’s name and lists its actions. In the action list, the Plan(s) column shows which plans each action belongs to. In the action and plan lists, you can change the order of the columns by dragging a column heading; the order is saved for you.

  • Seeing plans in the action list. The Plan(s) column can be shown with Select columns, so you see which plans each action belongs to.
  • Plans versus tagging. Tagging fields such as Country or Project describe an action; a plan groups actions you follow up together.
  • Deleting actions. To delete an action itself, use Delete action on its row. The button is shown only to users with the Create level or higher on the Action Manager row: to the action’s creator while the action is New or In progress, and to users with the Admin level on the Super area row in every status. It is never shown for an action connected to a document or another module. See The Action Manager index: tabs, columns, filters and buttons.
