Use favourites
To make something a favourite, open it and click the star (tooltip Add to favourites); for the Substance register list itself, it is a bell icon instead. It then appears in the favourites widget on your dashboard, Your favourite documents, where you click it to open it again. To remove a favourite, open the item and click the star again (the tooltip is then Remove from favorites on a document, and Remove from favourites on some other screens, such as equipment). Favourites are personal: nobody else sees yours.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You can make favourites of documents, company menus, reports, KPI scorecards, equipment, risk analyses, data sheets and the Substance register list, and two Competency tabs. Actions, environmental aspects, JSA, diagrams, individual risk elements within an analysis, and individual people in Competency cannot be favourites.
- Your favourites are shown only if your company’s dashboard includes the favourites widget. Your user administrator chooses the widgets; see Choose the dashboard widgets for your company.
- Open the item and click its star. Where to find it:
- A document: in view mode or edit mode.
- A company menu: on the company menu page.
- A report: on the report page.
- A KPI scorecard: on the scorecard.
- Equipment: on the item’s row in the equipment list.
- A risk analysis: on its row in the risk index, or on the analysis page (Favourite).
- A data sheet: on its row in the Substance register. The star is shown only to users with the Create right on the Substance register row. The Substance register list itself can also be a favourite: click the bell icon at the top of the index (tooltip Add to favourites); everyone who can open the register has it.
- Competency: the User information tab (the list itself, not a single person) and the Report tab.
- Go to the dashboard and find the item in Your favourite documents.
- To sort the list, click a column heading; click again to reverse the order.
- Click a row to open the item.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”The star is filled while the item is a favourite. In Your favourite documents, each row shows the item’s name under Title and its module or area under Module. A favourite of a whole list shows “Index” as its title, and the Competency Report tab shows “Report”.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Removing. The widget has no remove button. Return to the same star location listed in step 1 and click the filled star; for Equipment and data sheets, use the star on the list row.
- Sort order. Until you click a heading, the list is sorted by when the item was created (not when you added it), newest first. The sort you choose is saved for you.
- Full list. The widget shows 10 rows and loads more as you scroll. The full table also has a Created column and a search; see The dashboard.
- Automatic clean-up. A favourite disappears by itself when the document is archived or deleted, or when the report, KPI scorecard, equipment, risk analysis, data sheet or company menu is deleted. When an item is renamed, the new name is shown.
- Per company. If you belong to several companies, each company has its own favourites.
