Find and read a job safety analysis
Open Job Safety Analysis in the left menu, find the analysis in the list by its Area, and click the row. The analysis page lists its job steps, one per row, with the risk factor, the risk analysis per category, the risk-reducing activity, the responsible person, the due date and the residual risk. The info icon next to the heading shows the analysis information: area, discipline, scope, responsible, reference, JSA responsible, date and JSA group. Reading needs the Read right on the Job Safety Analysis row.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Job Safety Analysis appears in the left menu only if your company has the module and you have at least the Read right on its row. If you don’t see it, contact your user administrator. See The top bar and the left menu.
- Reading does not change anything in the analysis.
-
Select Job Safety Analysis in the left menu. The index opens with the heading Job safety analysis index.
-
Find the analysis in the list. Each row shows the Area (the analysis title), the date the analysis was created and Updated at. The list shows 10 analyses per page; use the page numbers below the list to see more.
-
Click the row. The analysis page opens; its heading is the area followed by “jsa items”.
-
Read the rows. Each row is one job step:
Columns What they show Job step, Risk factor The step of the job and what can go wrong. Risk analysis: Personal, Asset, Environment, Reputation The risk score for each category before any risk-reducing activity. Status The status of the job step. Risk Reducing Activity, Responsible, Due date What will be done, who is responsible (shown as their e-mail address) and by when. Residual risk: the same four categories The risk score for each category after the activity. -
Click the info icon next to the heading to read the analysis information. Close the dialog with Close.
-
Click Back to return to the index.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”For a job step, each category has its own score: consequence × probability, from 1 to 25. A score of 0 means the category has not been assessed. In a job safety analysis, there is no sum across the categories and no total for the analysis. See The analysis page, item dialogs and risk picker.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Clicking opens dialogs for changing. Clicking a row opens the dialog for changing the job step, and clicking a score opens the risk picker. If you only want to read, close them with Close without saving.
- The info dialog on the analysis page is for reading. Its title is JSA analysis and it has no Save button; changes you type there are not saved.
- No search on the analysis page. The page shows 10 job steps per page in the analysis’s own order.
- Single-module companies. If Job Safety Analysis is your company’s only module and the company has no document modules, ABMS opens the Job Safety Analysis index directly after you log in, instead of the dashboard.
- Rights. The rights on Job Safety Analysis are levels: Read, Edit, Create, Approve, Manage, Archive and Admin, each including the ones before it. Your user administrator grants them; see Give a user access rights.
