Job Safety Analysis is a module of its own in ABMS, separate from Risk management and Environmental aspects. This page collects the facts about the module as a whole: how it is switched on, how the rights apply, what it does not include, and how it differs from Environmental aspects and Risk management. The screens themselves are described on The JSA index and the analysis dialog and The analysis page, item dialogs and risk picker.

| The module is available only when it has been switched on for your company. If your company does not have it and wants it, contact Antenor; see Get help from Antenor support. |
The Job Safety Analysis module. |
| The rights on Job Safety Analysis apply to the whole module. There is no right for a single analysis: a user with a right has it for every job safety analysis of the company. The rights table is described in The Users page and the rights table. |
Rights on the Job Safety Analysis row. |
| The module has no Admin tab. The matrix, the categories and the colours are fixed and cannot be set up. |
The Job Safety Analysis module. |
| The Responsible list in the dialog for a job step contains the company’s users with the Approve right or higher on the Job Safety Analysis row. Deactivated users who have that right are in the list too. |
The dialog for changing a job step. |
| In a browser window narrower than 992 pixels, such as on a phone or a small tablet, the index shows only the Area column. The dates, the Info and Delete icons and the Add link are hidden; clicking a row still opens the analysis. |

| Attachments |
None. Files cannot be attached to an analysis or a job step. |
| Export and print |
No export and no print function. |

| Graphs, Top 10, heat map |
None. |
| E-mails and notifications |
None. Choosing a responsible person or a due date sends nothing; see Add, assess and follow up job steps. |
| Actions |
A job step’s Responsible and Due date are fields on the job step, not actions. They are not in the Action Manager, not on the dashboard and not covered by action reminders. |
| Choice of matrix |
None. Every analysis uses the same fixed 5 × 5 grid with four categories. |
| Total score |
None. Each category has its own score; there is no sum per job step or per analysis. |

| Risk analysis and residual risk |
Independent: saving one never changes the other. |
Saving the risk analysis also sets the residual risk until the action has been accepted. |
| Follow-up |
Responsible and Due date are plain fields; nothing is sent. |
An action is sent to the responsible person and answered in rounds, with e-mails; see Action rounds, statuses and e-mails. |
| Statuses |
Five: Open, Pending, No action, Closed, In progress. All five can be chosen in every status list, and the status changes nothing else. |
Six, adding Reopen. The action rounds set the status, and the status locks fields and the risk picker. |
| Who can be Responsible |
Users with Approve or higher, deactivated users included. |
Active users with Approve or higher. |
| Filter box above the index |

Standard texts in Standard scale texts and score values in environmental aspects. |
Both modules share: a fixed 5 × 5 grid with the same cell colours, one score per category (consequence × probability), scale texts that can be changed only right after an analysis is created, 10 rows per page, and the same right levels.
Risk management is a separate module with its own rules. Features that Risk management has and Job Safety Analysis does not: matrices that your company sets up in an Admin tab, scale texts edited per matrix, a sum across the matrix tabs, global fields, Top 10, export, attachments, history, favourites, the graphical analysis page, the heat map and actions in the Action Manager. See Find and read a risk analysis.
