What environmental aspects includes and how it differs
Environmental aspects is a module of its own in ABMS, separate from Risk management and Job Safety Analysis. This page collects the facts about the module as a whole: how it is switched on, how the rights apply, what it does not include, which labels can be confusing, and how it differs from Risk management. The screens themselves are described on The environmental aspect index and the analysis dialog and The aspect page and the item dialogs.
The module and its rights
Section titled “The module and its rights”| Fact | Applies to |
|---|---|
| The module is available only when it has been switched on for your company. If your company does not have it and wants it, contact Antenor; see Get help from Antenor support. | The Environmental aspects module. |
| The rights on Environmental aspects apply to the whole module. There is no right for a single analysis: a user with a right has it for every environmental aspect analysis of the company. The rights table is described in The Users page and the rights table. | Rights on the Environmental aspects row. |
| The module has no Admin tab. The matrix, the categories and the colours are fixed and cannot be set up. | The Environmental aspects module. |
| The creation date and Last updated are shown in the date format of your language. | The Environmental aspects index. |
| In a browser window narrower than 992 pixels, such as on a phone or a small tablet, the index shows only the Area column. The dates, the Info, Delete and Graph icons and the Add link are hidden; clicking a row still opens the aspect page. | The Environmental aspects index. |
What the module does not include
Section titled “What the module does not include”| Feature | In Environmental aspects |
|---|---|
| Attachments | None. Compliance and Regulations/Standards hold one link each, not files; see The aspect page and the item dialogs. |
| Export and print | No export and no print function. |
| History of changes | None. The dialog for an aspect lists the earlier rounds of its action, but ABMS shows no change history for the aspect’s own fields. |
| Favourites | None. |
| Global fields | None. |
| Top 10, heat map, graphical analysis page | None. The only chart is the risk graph; see The risk graph, help-text and identification pages. |
| The Action Manager | Environmental aspect actions are handled on the aspect, not in the Action Manager; see Action rounds, statuses and e-mails. |
| Choice of matrix | None. Every analysis uses the same fixed 5 × 5 grid with four categories. |
| Total score | None. Each category has its own score; there is no sum per aspect or per analysis. |
Labels to know
Section titled “Labels to know”The label Environmental aspect is used in three places: as the heading of the index, as the heading of the identification page and the title of the information dialog, and as a column on the identification page. The table says what each one is.
| Where | Label | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Left menu | Environmental aspects | The module. |
| Heading of the index | Environmental aspect | The list of analyses. |
| Heading of the aspect page | The area of the analysis followed by “environmental aspect items” | One analysis with its aspects. |
| Heading of the identification page, and title of the information dialog on the aspect page | Environmental aspect | The page where you type in new aspects for one analysis, and the dialog that shows the analysis information. |
| Column on the identification page | Environmental aspect | The same field as the Aspect column on the aspect page. |
| Badges under Aspect risk analysis and Residual risk in the dialog for changing an aspect | Personal, Asset, Environment, Reputation | This dialog uses these labels instead of the category names; the values are the same. Personal is the public health score (column P, tab Public health) and Asset is the legal score (column L, tab Legal). Environment and Reputation are the Environment Risk and Reputation Risk scores. |
| Table in the e-mails | Reason | The Cause of the aspect; see Environmental aspect actions in detail. |
Compared with Job Safety Analysis
Section titled “Compared with Job Safety Analysis”Job Safety Analysis is built the same way but has other categories, no actions and no risk graph, and its risk analysis and residual risk are independent. The full comparison is on What job safety analysis includes and how it differs.
Compared with Risk management
Section titled “Compared with Risk management”Risk management is a separate module with its own rules. Features that Risk management has and Environmental aspects does not: matrices that your company sets up in an Admin tab, scale texts edited per matrix, a sum across the matrix tabs, global fields, Top 10, export, attachments, history, favourites, the graphical analysis page, the heat map and actions in the Action Manager. See Find and read a risk analysis.
