Change a field's label, help text or required setting
To change a field in a module, go to Super > Modules, open the module, find the field on the Index tab and open its panel with the tasks icon. Change the label under Field label, the help text under Configure Tooltip, or turn Required on or off under Field Settings. Then click Save at the bottom of the page. The change also shows on existing documents in the module.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need the Admin level on the Super area row of your rights; this is what shows the Super menu. Your user administrator sets this; see The Users page and the rights table.
- Know which section of the module the field is in.
- If the field has separate English and Norwegian texts, have both ready.
- In the left menu, click Super > Modules, and click the module in the list. The editor opens on the Index tab.
- Click the tab of the section that has the field.
- Find the field and click its tasks icon (tooltip Expand/Collapse). The field’s panel opens.
- Make your changes:
- Label: under Field label, change the text in the label box, or in the boxes English and Norwegian. Every box must have text.
- Help text: under Configure Tooltip, turn on Enable Tooltip and write the text. Turn on Translation to write it in English and Norwegian. Turn Enable Tooltip off to remove the help text.
- Required: under Field Settings, turn Required on to make users fill in the field, or off to make it optional.
- Before you save, check that every label box in the module has text.
- Click Save at the bottom of the Index tab.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”When the module is saved, the page returns to the module list. In documents of the module, the field shows the new label and help text. A required field is marked with a star with the tooltip Required, and the document cannot be sent until the field is filled in; see Edit mode: buttons, the send dialog, the required-fields dialog. The changes also show on existing documents in the module.
If the page stays on the editor after Save, a label or a list value is missing its text; fill it in and save again.
