Find your way after logging in

After you log in, ABMS opens the dashboard. Which widgets the dashboard has depends on your company’s setup: if your company’s dashboard includes them, there is a search bar for published documents at the top, tiles that count the documents and actions waiting for you, and lists of recent activity and your favourites. On the left, the menu lists the modules you have the Read right on. The top bar holds the menu button, notifications and the language choice. In a company whose only module is one of a few modules, such as Equipment Management, ABMS opens that module instead of the dashboard; see The top bar and the left menu.

  • You need a user in ABMS. Your user administrator creates it and gives you your rights: Read lets you open a module, Create lets you start new documents in it. See The Users page and the rights table.
  • The first time you log in with a password, ABMS asks you to choose a new password before you get in. This does not apply when you sign in with Office 365. See Change language or password.
  • If you have forgotten your password, use “Forgot your password?” on the login page to get a reset link by e-mail; see Reset a forgotten password. If you log in with Office 365, your password is reset through Microsoft. If you cannot log in for another reason, contact your user administrator. Once you are logged in, the Super Users list on your User profile shows who they are.
  1. Log in. ABMS opens the page you were trying to open before you logged in, or else your start page.

  2. If your dashboard has the count tiles, look at them to see what needs your attention:

    • Your in progress documents: documents it is your turn to fill in, including drafts you have saved.
    • Documents awaiting your approval: documents sent to you that you have not yet opened for your step with the green button in the document. When you do, the document moves to Your in progress documents.
    • Documents sent for approval: documents you have sent that are still waiting.
    • Actions awaiting your input: open actions where you are the next to act, environmental aspect actions waiting for you, and open Read & understood requests sent to you.

Click a tile to see the list behind the number, and click a row to open the item.

  3. To find a published document, type part of its title or its ID in the search bar and press Enter. See Search for a document.

  4. To start a new document, click New document on the dashboard and choose the module. The list shows the modules you have the Create right on.

  5. To work in a module, choose it in the left menu. Under a document module (a module where documents are filled in and sent for approval, such as a deviation module) you find New followed by the module name, if you have the Create right, and the module’s reports.

  6. Use the top bar to collapse or expand the left menu, open your notifications (the bell) or change the language (the flag).

  7. To log out, click the arrow next to your name at the top of the left menu and choose Log out.

The dashboard with the widgets your company uses, and a left menu with Dashboard (in most companies), Company Menu (when your company has company menus), KPI Scorecard and Actions (when you have the right), followed by your modules in alphabetical order. Your name and e-mail address are at the top of the left menu; click them to open your User profile.

  • The same widgets for everyone. On the standard dashboard, your user administrator chooses the widgets and their layout for the whole company; you cannot add, move or remove widgets yourself. What each tile and list contains is personal. See Choose the dashboard widgets for your company.
  • Older dashboard. If your dashboard has a Configure dashboard button, your company uses an older layout, where each user can show or hide boxes. See The dashboard.
  • Only one module. If the only module your company has is Competency, Environmental aspects, Equipment Management, Job Safety Analysis, Risk management or Substance register, and your company has no document modules, you land on that module’s start page (when you have the Read right on it) and the Dashboard entry is hidden. Risk management is the exception; see The top bar and the left menu.
  • Missing a module or New entry? Your company may not have the module, or you may lack the right. Ask your user administrator; see The top bar and the left menu and Give a user access rights.
  • Several companies. If you belong to more than one company, open the arrow next to your name at the top of the left menu and choose the company to switch to.
  • Favourites. Items you mark with the star appear in the favourites widget, if your company’s dashboard has it. See Use favourites.
