The top bar and the left menu
Every page in ABMS has a top bar and a left menu. The top bar holds the menu button, the language choice and the notification bell, plus a few tools that appear while you work. The left menu starts with your name and then lists the parts of ABMS you can use. What the left menu shows depends on two things: which modules your company has, and which rights your user administrator has given you. Most modules are listed only when your company has the module and you have at least the Read right on its row; KPI Scorecard and Diagrams follow their own rules, shown in the table below. The New entries need the Create right.
The top bar
Section titled “The top bar”The menu button is on the left; the language choice and the bell are on the right.
| Control | What it does | When it is shown |
|---|---|---|
| Menu button (three lines) | Collapses the left menu, and opens it again. | Always. |
| Language (flag and language name) | Choose English or Norsk. The choice is saved on your user, the page reloads in that language, and it stays the next time you log in. A few texts are always shown in English. See Change language or password. | Always. |
| Bell | A red number shows how many notifications you have not read. Click it to see announcements from Antenor, comments that mention you, new comments on documents where you take part in the current workflow step, and Read & understood requests. Opening the list marks them all as read. See Read notifications. | Always. |
| QR code button | Shows a QR code and a link to the page you are on, so you can open the same page on your phone. | — |
| Save status | While you edit, shows whether your changes are being saved, the time they were last saved, or that saving failed. | While you edit. |
The left menu: your name and the profile menu
Section titled “The left menu: your name and the profile menu”| Control | What it does | When it is shown |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and e-mail address | Opens your User profile page, where you can see your details, the groups you are a member of and, under Super Users, your company’s user administrators (active users with the Admin level on the Super area row, personally or through an access group; Antenor’s own staff are not listed), and change your password. See The User profile page. | Always. |
| Arrow next to your name | Opens the profile menu: a greeting “Hello, <first name>!”, Profile, a link to your own competency page, Log out, and a list of companies. | Always. |
| Profile | Opens your profile. | Always. |
| Your competency page | Opens your own page in Competency. | Only if you have access to Competency. |
| Log out | Logs you out of ABMS. | Always. |
| List of companies | Click a company to switch to it. | Only if you are a user in more than one company. |
The left menu: the entries
Section titled “The left menu: the entries”The entries come in this order. Document modules and the other modules are sorted alphabetically by name.
| Entry | What it opens | When it is shown |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your dashboard; see The dashboard. | In most companies. Hidden only in a company whose only module is one of the six listed under “A company with only one module” below, unless that module is Risk management. |
| Company Menu | A list of your company’s menus, in the sort order your user administrator has set. A menu set to Hide in main menu is not listed. See Build or edit a company menu. | When your company has at least one company menu. |
| KPI Scorecard | The KPI scorecards you have Read on, each for its latest year. New scorecard creates a new scorecard. See KPI Scorecard menu and scorecard list. | When you have Read on at least one scorecard, or Create. New scorecard needs Create. |
| Actions | The Action Manager, opening on All Actions. See The Action Manager index: tabs, columns, filters and buttons. | When you have the Read right on the Action Manager row. |
| Each document module (a module where documents are filled in and sent for approval, for example a deviation module) | Opens to a list with New followed by the module name first, then the reports that are set to Show this report in the system menu. New followed by the module name creates a new document in that module. | When your company has the module and you have the Read right on its row. The New entry needs the Create right, and a report is listed here only when you have the Read right on the rows of all the modules it covers. This rule is for the menu only; opening a report from Reports is described in Find and read a standard report. |
| Other modules: Competency, Environmental aspects, Equipment Management, Job Safety Analysis, Risk management, Substance register and Reports | The module. | When your company has the module and you have the Read right on its row. Reports needs the Read right on the reports row. |
| Diagrams | The diagrams. | When you are a member of the Diagrams access group; Diagrams has no row of its own in the rights table. See Get access to Diagrams. |
| Super | The superuser menu: users, access groups, company menus, system settings and more. See The Users page and the rights table. | When you have the Admin level on the Super area row (Manage or Archive is not enough). |
A company with only one module
Section titled “A company with only one module”Some companies use ABMS for a single module. When the only module your company has is Competency, Environmental aspects, Equipment Management, Job Safety Analysis, Risk management or Substance register, and your company has no document modules:
- After login, ABMS opens that module’s start page instead of the dashboard, provided you have the Read right on that module’s row.
- The Dashboard entry is hidden from the left menu.
- Risk management is the exception to the second point: in a company with only Risk management, Dashboard stays in the menu. Until your user administrator has chosen widgets, that dashboard shows only the search bar, Actions awaiting your input and Risk top 10 items; see The dashboard.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Missing a module? If you expect a module or a New entry that is not in your menu, your company may not have the module, or you may lack the right. Ask your user administrator; see Give a user access rights.
- During maintenance. While ABMS is in maintenance mode, the New entries are hidden.
- The Admin menu. A separate Admin menu is used by Antenor’s own staff only and is not shown to customer users. It has nothing to do with the Admin right level that your user administrator can give.
- Reports in the menu. Whether a report appears under its module is set on the report; see The report Settings tab.
