Change the due date of an action

To change the due date, open the action, click the pencil next to Due date (shown once you have accepted the action), choose the new date and write a Reason for change:. Depending on your company’s setting, the change either goes to the action’s creator for approval, or takes effect at once. If approval is required, a banner at the top of the dialog later tells you whether the change was approved or rejected.

  • You must currently hold the action as its responsible and have accepted it. Before you click Accept, the pencil next to Due date is not shown.
  • Your company decides whether due-date changes need approval. The setting is on by default, and it is managed on the Admin tab of the Action Manager by users with the Admin level on the Super area row.
  1. Open the action from the Action Manager or from Actions awaiting your input on your dashboard (if your company’s dashboard has this box).
  2. Click the pencil next to Due date.
  3. Choose the new date.
  4. Write why the date must change under Reason for change:.
  5. Confirm the change:
    • In an action sent to you, click Send. If approval is required, the request goes to the action’s creator; if not, the new date takes effect at once.
    • In an action you sent to yourself, click Save. The new date takes effect at once.

With approval required, the creator gets an e-mail about the request and can approve or reject it. If they approve, the new due date is set, and you see the banner “Your due date change has been approved!”. If they reject, the date stays as it was, you see “Your due date change has been rejected!”, and their message explains why. You get an e-mail in both cases.

Without approval, the new due date shows straight away.

The change is recorded on the Log tab of the action, with the old and new date and your reason.

  • For the creator. When a due-date change is sent to you, you get an e-mail about the request; open the action and approve or reject it. Approving sets the new date; rejecting returns the request with your message.
  • Self-assigned actions. If you are both creator and responsible, the change is always approved automatically.
  • Dates. Type dates as 16/06/2026 in English or 16.06.2026 in Norwegian.
