Allow or stop new revisions of published documents in a module
Whether users can start a new revision of a published document is set per module. Go to Super > Modules, open the module, click the Admin tab, and in the section Revisioning turn Allow creation of revisions for published documents on or off. The switch saves at once.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need the Admin level on the Super area row of your rights; this is what shows the Super menu. Your user administrator sets this; see The Users page and the rights table.
- Know how users change published documents with and without revisions; see Edit a published document and see earlier revisions.
- In the left menu, click Super > Modules, and click the module in the list.
- Click the Admin tab.
- In the section Revisioning, turn Allow creation of revisions for published documents on to allow new revisions, or off to stop them. The change is saved at once; you do not need to click Save.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”For the module’s published documents:
| Switch | What users can do |
|---|---|
| On | Users can start a new revision of a published document in the module. The revision goes through the workflow again, and earlier revisions stay available in the info panel. |
| Off | Users cannot create new revisions of published documents in the module. Users with the Approve right on the module’s row, or the Admin level on the Super area row, can still change a published document directly with the small pencil on a field. |
The setting applies to the whole module, including documents that are already published.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Check the current state. Look at the switch before you change it, so you know how the module is set today.
- Other settings on the tab. The Admin tab also has the module’s statuses, comments box, Read & understood and checklist templates; see The module Admin tab: statuses, comments box, Read & understood, revisioning, checklist templates.
