Find and read an environmental aspect analysis
Open Environmental aspects in the left menu, find the analysis in the list by its Area, and click the row. The aspect page lists the analysis’s aspects, one per row: what the aspect is, its potential consequence and cause, the risk per category, the status, the current action with its responsible person and due date, the residual risk, and links to compliance and regulations. The info icon next to the heading shows the analysis information: area, scope, responsible, aspect manager, participants and date. Reading needs the Read right on the Environmental aspects row.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Environmental aspects appears in the left menu only if your company has the module and you have at least the Read right on its row. If you don’t see it, contact your user administrator. See The top bar and the left menu.
- Reading does not change anything in the analysis.
-
Select Environmental aspects in the left menu. The index opens with the heading Environmental aspect.
-
Find the analysis in the list. Each row shows the Area (the analysis title), the date the analysis was created and Last updated. To narrow the list, type in the Filter box; the list then shows matching analyses from all pages.
-
Click the row. The aspect page opens; its heading is the area followed by “environmental aspect items”.
-
Read the rows. Each row is one aspect:
Columns What they show Aspect identification: Area, Aspect, Potential Consequence, Cause Where the aspect occurs, what it is, what it can lead to and why. Aspect risk analysis: P, L, Environment, Reputation The risk score for public health, legal, environment and reputation before the action. Status The status of the aspect. Controlling activity, Responsible, Due date The current action: what is to be done (or the responsible person’s description of what was done), who is responsible (shown as their e-mail address) and by when. Residual risk: P, L, Environment, Reputation The risk score for each category after the action. Compliance, Regulations/Standards Named links; click a name to open the link. -
Click the info icon next to the heading to read the analysis information. Close the dialog with Close.
-
Click Back to return to the index.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”For an aspect, each category has its own score: consequence × probability, from 1 to 25, shown as a coloured badge. A score of 0 (grey) means the category has not been assessed. In Environmental aspects, there is no sum across the categories of an aspect. See The aspect page and the item dialogs.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The risk graph. The Graph icon on the index opens a chart of the analysis’s aspects by probability and consequence. Check that the heading of the graph shows the area of the analysis you meant. The graph page has no Back button; use your browser’s back button. See The risk graph, help-text and identification pages.
- Clicking opens dialogs for changing. Clicking a row opens the dialog for changing the aspect. Clicking a score under Aspect risk analysis opens the risk picker unless the aspect’s status is Closed, No action or In progress; a score under Residual risk opens it only after the action has been accepted, and not while the status is Closed. If you only want to read, close them with Close without saving.
- The info dialog on the aspect page is for reading. It has no Save button.
- Actions. Each aspect can have actions sent to a responsible person. The table shows the latest one; the dialog for the aspect shows the earlier rounds. See Action rounds, statuses and e-mails.
- Single-module companies. If Environmental aspects is your company’s only module and the company has no document modules, ABMS opens the Environmental aspects index directly after you log in, instead of the dashboard.
- Rights. The rights on Environmental aspects are levels: Read, Edit, Create, Approve, Manage, Archive and Admin, each including the ones before it. Your user administrator grants them; see Give a user access rights.
