The risk graph, help-text and identification pages
Three further pages belong to an environmental aspect analysis. The risk graph plots the analysis’s aspects by probability and consequence; you open it with the Graph icon on the index. The help-text page holds the texts for the probability and consequence levels of the analysis’s risk scales; it appears only once, right after you click Save in the Add environmental aspect dialog, and it is the only time the scale texts can be changed. The identification page lets you enter several aspects at once; it opens after the help-text page, and from the Add link on the index.
Rights
Section titled “Rights”| Right on Environmental aspects | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read | Open the risk graph. |
| Create | Create the analysis (which opens the help-text page) and save rows on the identification page. |
All buttons are shown to everyone who can open the pages; saving rows needs the Create right. Your user administrator grants the rights; see Give a user access rights.
The risk graph
Section titled “The risk graph”The heading is the area of the analysis. Check that it is the analysis you meant. The page has no Back button; use your browser’s back button to leave it.
| Control | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Type label | Shows which risk the graph plots: Aspect risk analysis or Residual risk. | Aspect risk analysis |
| Select type | Switches between Aspect risk analysis and Residual risk. | |
| Chart | A scatter chart with “Probabilities” (0 to 5) along the bottom and “Consequences” (0 to 5) up the side, and a legend with “low”, “medium” and “high”. There is one dot per aspect and category at its probability and consequence. | |
| Category buttons Public health, Legal, Environment Risk, Reputation Risk, and a button for all four | Show one category, or all four together. | All four |
| Tooltip | Hover over a dot to see “Risk value (<score>)” and “Items: <number>”. |
In the risk graph, a dot is green for a score up to 6, yellow for 7 to 14 and red for 15 or more. A dot is larger the more ratings share the same point: with one category shown, the number of aspects with that probability and consequence; with all four shown, the number of category ratings at that point across all four categories. Aspects that have not been assessed are counted together at 0, as a green dot. The dot colour follows the score only, so it can differ from the badge on the aspect page: a score of 5 with consequence 5 is a green dot in the graph and a yellow badge in the table.
The help-text page
Section titled “The help-text page”The heading is Please review the matrix help text and change them if necessary. The controls appear in this order.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tabs Public health, Legal, Environment Risk, Reputation Risk | One tab per risk category, each showing the texts for that category. |
| Probability texts | The five texts for the probability levels, 1 to 5. They head the columns of the risk picker. |
| Consequence texts | The five texts for the consequence levels of the selected category, 1 to 5. They label the rows of the risk picker. |
| Pencil icon (next to each text) | Opens an editor on the right, headed Edit values on the first tab, with a field for the English text and a field for the Norwegian text. |
| Update button (in the editor) | Saves the English and Norwegian text for this analysis only, and reloads the page. Other analyses keep their own texts. |
| Close button (at the bottom) | Leaves the page and returns to the index. The analysis has already been created. |
| Save button (at the bottom) | Opens the identification page for the new analysis. |
A new analysis starts with the standard texts. The texts you leave or change here are the ones the risk picker shows for this analysis; they cannot be changed after you leave the page.
The identification page
Section titled “The identification page”The heading is Environmental aspect. The page starts with no rows. The columns are grouped under Aspect identification.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Area | Free text. While you type, ABMS suggests values from the analysis’s existing aspects. |
| Environmental aspect | Free text for the aspect, with suggestions as for Area. |
| Potential Consequence | Free text. |
| Cause | Free text. |
| Delete (on a row) | Removes the row from the page. Nothing has been saved yet. |
| Insert (on a row) | Adds a new row directly below this one, with a copy of this row’s area and aspect. |
| Add row | Adds an empty row at the end. |
| Save | Saves all rows as new aspects with status Open and opens the aspect page. With no rows, the message “There is nothing to save!” appears. Needs the Create right. |
| Back | Returns to the index. Rows you have not saved are lost. |
The identification page only adds aspects. Aspects the analysis already has are not shown or changed here; change them on the aspect page.
