The analysis information form
The analysis information form holds the shared information, matrix and report for one risk analysis. Open it with New risk analysis on Index, or select Information in an existing analysis. A new analysis needs a title and a selected matrix before it can be saved. The individual risk elements are on Risk, not in this form.
You need the Create right on the Risk management row to use the new form, and the Edit right on the Risk management row to change existing information. Your user administrator grants these rights. Without the Edit right, the title, global fields, scope, facilitator, participants and date are disabled. Existing information shows the values saved for that analysis.
Analysis Information
Section titled “Analysis Information”The fields appear in this order. Global fields are inserted between Title and Scope, according to your company’s setup.
| Field or control | What it does and what you can enter |
|---|---|
| Title | Free text that identifies the analysis. Required for saving. |
| Global fields | Configured lists such as project, location or department. The labels, available values and fields are your company’s own setup. Each field is a multi-select: choose the values that apply to this analysis. An unselected list can show Please select. Selected values that have been deactivated are flagged and prevent saving. |
| Scope | Text describing what the analysis covers. |
| Closed-analysis checkbox | Shown only on an analysis that still carries a closed marking from an earlier version of the module. Analyses can no longer be closed. The marking concerns only the risk owner and action responsible used by that earlier version; it does not make the rest of this form read-only. In the index’s edit mode, however, Participants is disabled on such an analysis; see The risk index page. Only users with the Admin right on the Risk management row can untick it, and the tooltip warns: “Unchecking this box will allow for editing of risk owner and action responsible. This closing functionality has been removed, so if you open it up you will not be able to close it again.” |
| Facilitator | Selects one user as the analysis’s facilitator. The list also offers a blank option. |
| Participants | A text area for participant information, with four visible lines. It is not a user picker; four lines describes the field’s visible size, not a limit on the number of participants. Separate participants with commas: in edit mode on the index, the same field is a single line. |
| Date | The analysis date, without a time. Uses the interface language’s date format: day/month/year in English, for example 13/10/2026, and day.month.year in Norwegian. |
| History control and previous values | Shown only when stored history exists. The control expands or collapses earlier facilitator, participants and date rows. |
Only the title and the matrix are required. The global fields and the other fields are never required.
Matrix
Section titled “Matrix”The matrix supplies the risk-type tabs and the probability and consequence descriptions used in the analysis. Its categories, scales and colours belong to your company’s setup; there is no universal number of tabs or fixed matrix size.
| Field or control | What it does and when it appears |
|---|---|
| Select Matrix | Shown when a matrix still needs to be assigned. Choose from the available matrices. On a new analysis, the matrix with Default matrix switched on (set on the Admin tab) is preselected if your company has one; check the selection before saving. Required. |
| Assigned matrix name and description | Shown instead of the selector when the analysis already has a matrix. These identify the matrix used by the analysis. The matrix cannot be changed once the analysis is saved; to use another matrix, copy the analysis and choose the other matrix (Copy or delete a risk analysis). |
| Risk-type tabs | Show the assigned or selected matrix’s risk types. Select a tab to read that type’s matrix details. Switching tabs changes the displayed detail, not the assigned matrix or any risk-element scores. |
| Probability and consequence descriptions | Explain the levels for the displayed risk type. Read them when interpreting the analysis’s scores. This part of the form describes the matrix; the scores of individual risk elements belong to the Risk table. |
Report
Section titled “Report”| Field or control | What it does and when it appears |
|---|---|
| Report | Rich-text report for the analysis. An existing report opens in reading mode. |
| Pencil | Opens the report for editing when you have the Edit right. Use Save at the bottom of the form to save the report changes together with the analysis information. |
The rich-text editor has its own formatting controls. They belong to the editor rather than the analysis information fields.
Buttons and save conditions
Section titled “Buttons and save conditions”| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cancel | Appears on the new-analysis form. Returns to the index without creating the analysis. |
| Save | Saves the analysis information and report. A new analysis opens on its risk-element page after saving. For an existing analysis, saving refreshes the information and available history, returns the report to reading mode and shows success feedback. |
Save is disabled when there is no information or report change to save, when the title or matrix is missing, or when selected global-field values have been deactivated. Invalid selected values are flagged in the form. While required information is missing, the Save tooltip is “Please fill in all required fields to enable save”.
Use Save to keep your changes. For an existing analysis, the form’s save updates its shared information and report; it is separate from editing individual risk-element rows.
