What ABMS does not do, and what to do instead

ABMS is developed by Antenor. The list below is what customers often ask for that ABMS does not do today, with the way to reach the same goal. If your company needs one of these, contact Antenor support to discuss it; see Get help from Antenor support.

Copy a document or use an old one as a template

Section titled “Copy a document or use an old one as a template”

ABMS cannot copy a document or create a new document from an old one. Create a new document instead. For text you write again and again, your company can make a text template that anyone can insert in the text editor; see Create a company text template for the text editor and Write and format a document.

A document belongs to the module it was created in and cannot be moved to another module. Create the document again in the right module and archive the old one; see Delete or archive a document.

Take back a document you sent, or change its receiver

Section titled “Take back a document you sent, or change its receiver”

Once you have sent a document, you cannot take it back or change who receives it; the workflow only moves forward. Ask the receiver to reject it back to you with the red button; the receiver can do that only until they open their step with the green button. See Approve or reject a document you received and The document went to the wrong person, or the receiver is away. Where your company has switched on forwarding for the step, the receiver can forward the section to someone else; see Edit mode: buttons, the send dialog, the required-fields dialog. If the receiver is away or has left, your user administrator can transfer the document to someone else; see Transfer ownership of a user’s items.

Nobody in your company can restore a document once it has been deleted. To remove a document you no longer need, archive it instead; see Delete or archive a document. An archived document can be unarchived; see The document page in view mode.

You archive documents one at a time; ABMS has no way for your company to archive or delete many documents in one go. See Delete or archive a document. For a large clean-up, contact Antenor support; see Get help from Antenor support.

There is no personal setting that turns off the e-mails ABMS sends you. You can stop following a document so you no longer get an e-mail each time it is published; see Follow a document. How comments send e-mails is set per module; see Choose how comments notify people. Reminders are set up by your company, not per person: action reminders for the whole company and maintenance reminders on each equipment item; see Set up action reminders and Set up maintenance reminders.

Use ABMS in a language other than English or Norwegian

Section titled “Use ABMS in a language other than English or Norwegian”

The language choice in ABMS offers English and Norsk; see Change language or password. When you send a document to someone outside ABMS, you write the subject and message of the e-mail yourself, so you can write them in the receiver’s language; see Choose the language for people outside ABMS.

Change a published document without a new revision

Section titled “Change a published document without a new revision”

In a module with revisions, a published document is changed by creating a new revision, which goes through the workflow again; see Edit a published document and see earlier revisions. Whether a module allows new revisions is set by your user administrator; see Allow or stop new revisions of published documents in a module.

Change a module’s fields, workflow or name yourself

Section titled “Change a module’s fields, workflow or name yourself”

The structure of a module, meaning its fields, sections, workflow steps, receivers, name and icon, is set up by Antenor. Your company can adjust labels, help texts, which fields are required and the values users can choose. To change the structure, ask your user administrator to contact Antenor support; see The module editor: module list, Index tab and field panels.

Only Antenor can delete a published document; no right in your company allows it. Archive the document instead; see Delete or archive a document.

Add or remove dashboard widgets for yourself

Section titled “Add or remove dashboard widgets for yourself”

On the standard dashboard, the widgets and their layout are the same for everyone in the company, and you cannot add, move or remove them yourself. Your user administrator chooses them; see Choose the dashboard widgets for your company.
