Risk management in a narrow browser window
Risk management changes its layout when the browser window is narrow. On the Risk tab of an analysis, the narrow layout is used whenever the window is 1400 pixels wide or less, which includes many laptop screens. It has fewer controls than the wide layout described in The risk-element table. If a button or column described there is missing, make the browser window wider, or zoom out, and the wide layout returns at once.
When each layout is used
Section titled “When each layout is used”| Page | Narrow layout when |
|---|---|
| Risk tab of an analysis | The browser window is 1400 pixels wide or less. The layout switches as soon as you resize the window. |
| Index toolbar | The browser window is 991 pixels wide or less. |
| Graph index | The browser window is narrower than 768 pixels. |
The header controls of the analysis page (Search, Favourite, Export, New risk element, Edit mode, Back and Column sections) are the same in both layouts.
The Risk tab in the narrow layout
Section titled “The Risk tab in the narrow layout”Each risk element is one row with Risk area, Status and an arrow. In a window narrower than 768 pixels, Status is left out of the row. Click the arrow to open the risk element’s details under the row; the action panel with its linked actions opens at the same time. The details are shown on panels that you move between with the left and right arrows.
| Panel | View mode | Edit mode |
|---|---|---|
| First | Status, Risk factor, Potential consequence, Cause, Existing barriers, Created, Updated at. | Status, Risk factor, Potential consequence, Cause and Existing barriers, which you can edit. Each field is saved when you leave it. |
| Second | Actions / comments; the original risk per risk type with its Sum; the residual risk per risk type with its Sum; Attachment/Link. | The same, editable. Click a risk value to open the risk picker. |
In a window narrower than 768 pixels, Existing barriers is on the second panel instead of the first. In edit mode, the trash icon is shown below the linked actions for a risk element that can be deleted, that is, one with status Open or No action; see Copy, reorder, flag and delete risk elements.
In edit mode, Risk area and Status can also be changed directly in the row.
What the narrow layout on the Risk tab does not have
Section titled “What the narrow layout on the Risk tab does not have”| Missing | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Add 1 row, Add 10 rows, Add 50 rows | To add risk elements in the narrow layout, use New risk element in the header; the add-row buttons return when the window is wider than 1400 pixels. |
| The + icon that inserts a row | To insert a row below another risk element, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. |
| The copy icon | To copy a risk element, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. |
| Top 10 | To tick or untick Top 10, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. |
| The drag handle for moving rows | To move risk elements by dragging, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. |
| Sorting by clicking a column heading | To change the sort order, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. A sort chosen in the wide layout still applies in the narrow layout. |
| Opening the risk picker in view mode | To open the risk picker in the narrow layout, switch to Edit mode, which needs the Edit right on the Risk management row. With the Read right only, widen the window to more than 1400 pixels. |
The index in a narrow window
Section titled “The index in a narrow window”When the window is 991 pixels wide or less, the index toolbar buttons are replaced by a menu button with three lines. The menu holds:
| Entry | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export | Downloads Risk Management index. |
| Export incl. details | Starts Risk Management incl. details, which is e-mailed to you. |
| New risk analysis | Opens the form for a new analysis. Shown with the Create right. |
| Edit mode / View mode | Switches the index between view mode and edit mode. Shown with the Edit right. |
Share is not in the menu; widen the window to share the index. The exports are described in Excel exports in Risk management, column by column.
Graphical analysis on a phone
Section titled “Graphical analysis on a phone”In a browser window narrower than 768 pixels, Graph index shows only Graph name; Creator, Locked and Delete are left out. On a phone or tablet (such as an Android device, an iPhone or an iPad), whatever the window width, clicking a bar in Show Items (see The graphical analysis page) opens the risk element in the same window instead of a new tab.
