Dates and times on a document

This page lists the dates and times shown on, or used for, a document in a standard document module (for example Avvik, Kundetilfredshet or Styrende dokumenter): where you see it, what sets it, and what does not change it. Dates follow your language setting: 16/06/2026 with English, 16.06.2026 with Norwegian. Which modules use which features is your company’s own setup.

Date or time Where you see it What sets it
Created, one per step The Log view at the bottom of the document page, on the line of each step. Date only. For the first step’s line: when the document was created. For each later line: when the document reached that step, for example when the previous owner sent it on. A rejected step’s line is removed, so a step that is sent again gets a new line with a new date.
Updated, one per step The Log view, on the line of each step. Date only. The last time that step’s line was saved: when a field of that step’s section is saved, when the step is taken over or approved, and when the next step is rejected back to it. When the document is published, the Updated date of every line changes. Adding attachments, comments, following the document, Read & understood requests, actions and archiving do not change it.
Date of a rejection The Rejections dialog, opened from the Log view. When the receiver rejected the step.
“Document created on:” The Delete document dialog. Date and time. When the document was created.
Latest update The info panel (i), on published documents. The last time the published revision you are looking at was saved: when it was published, or when a field was changed with the small pencil in a module without revisions. Attachments, comments, actions and archiving do not change it. See Revisions and the info panel.
Publishing date of a revision The revision list in the info panel, after each published revision. When that revision was published.
Date of an observation The details under the arrow next to a revision in the revision list. When the revision was saved as an observation.
Date in the history of a field The history icon next to a field that was changed after publication, in a module without revisions. When the field was changed with the small pencil. The first row is “Original value”.
“Last save at:” The top bar, while you edit. Time. The last automatic save of a field while you edit; see Fill in the fields of a document.
Date and time of a comment The comments panel. When the comment was written; “(Edited)” shows when it was changed. See The comments panel.
Date in the PDF footer Every page of a PDF of a published document. The publishing date; see The print dialog and the PDF.
Values of date fields The form. Typed or picked by the step owner, or a default of today plus a set number of days; see The field types in a document form.
Date Where you see it What sets it
Last Sent Date The External view, one row per e-mail address. The last time the link was sent to that address: the first sending, or a later Send again, Send again to selected or Send to new people.
Expiration Date The External view. 14 days after the link was sent. When you reject a form that was returned, the same link becomes active for 14 more days. The 14 days cannot be changed.
Days left Documents sent for approval on the dashboard, with the External filter. The days until the link expires; see The dashboard.
Deactivation of expired links Not shown as a date. Once a day, in the morning, links past their expiration date are deactivated. When you sent to several people, the copy of anyone who opened the form but did not return it is deleted then, with what they filled in, and they can no longer return it.
Date or time Where you see it What sets it
“Invited at” The tooltip of the status Pending or Unconfirmed in the Read & understood dialog. When the request was made.
“Accepted at” The tooltip of the status Accepted. When the user confirmed with Accept contents.
Invitation e-mail and notification The invited user’s inbox and the notification bell. About two minutes after Invite selected.
Reminder e-mail The invited user’s inbox. Every morning, ABMS sends a reminder for each open request whose last e-mail is seven or more days old, so a user gets one reminder a week until they confirm or the request is cancelled.

When automatic e-mails about a document are sent

Section titled “When automatic e-mails about a document are sent”
E-mail When
Workflow e-mails (sent, rejected, published, forwarded) Shortly after the event. See Document e-mails: subjects, recipients, language and sender.
“Document updated” to followers Shortly after the document is published.
Comment e-mails Mention and invitation e-mails when the mention or invitation is made; “Document Chat - New Comment” only when the module’s inactivity interval has passed; see Comment on a document and mention colleagues.
Date-based e-mails set up for a module The documents are checked once an hour during the day. A document is included once, and then again every set number of days while it still matches the conditions. If a document stops matching and later matches again, it can be included again. See E-mails and reminders about documents.
Action reminders In the morning, at the interval your company has chosen; see Set up action reminders.

The Actions view on the document lists each linked action with Created date, Last update, Closed date and Due date. These are the action’s own dates; see Action statuses, who holds an action, and e-mails.
